WHAT A DAY!

A couple of weeks ago, I changed the header on my blog page.  I totally forgot all about it.  As I sit down to draft this post, I am hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed (2 Corinthians 4:8-9).  YET, I am reminded, there is ALWAYS SOMETHING TO BE THANKFUL FOR.  Thank you, Ann Voskamp, for the beautiful reminder!

Since this is MY blog, I’m still going to get a couple of things off my chest:

I was raised to believe in the justice system.  I’m not sure I can anymore.

I was raised to believe in the men in uniform protecting you.  I’m not sure I can anymore.

I was raised to believe everyone is treated fairly.  I’m not sure I can believe that anymore either.

AND….

Would someone please tell me WHY I have to pay a fortune for a Verizon charger to charge my cell phone?  I JUST purchased a new generic charger (I picked one up on sale AND was able to apply my “bucks” towards the purchase, resulting in a FABULOUS deal!) and within ONE DAY, my phone wouldn’t charge.  My phone literally told me I needed a Verizon charger!  WHAT ON EARTH?

I was raised by parents who grew up during the depression and experienced first hand what it meant to go without.  I don’t believe I suffered as a result, but I was taught to eliminate waste whenever possible and to comparison shop, factoring all variables into the equation.  I take pride in my ability to calculate the best deal and to save money.  So WHY do I have to purchase a Verizon charger?  BECAUSE IT’S A RACKET!

AND….

Please tell me why my car WON’T pass inspection if the air bag sensor isn’t working in the passenger seat of my car?  When I was growing up there was NO SUCH THING as an airbag!  Now that my children are grown, NO ONE EVEN SITS in the passenger seat of my car!  Yet the air bag sensor MUST WORK!  OH PLEASE!!!!  So I take my car to the electrical shop and PRAY it’s just a quick, cheap fix.  BUT NO!!!  I need a NEW SEAT in my 2008 Nissan Altima!!!!  Are you kidding me!?!?!?!?!  A USED SEAT is $500, PLUS an additional $100+ for the diagnostic test and process to arrive at the solution.

BUT at the end of the day, I was SO blessed.  I met a very nice lady while my car was getting inspected.  We had a nice long chat about knee surgery and the pains of growing old.

Then, at the electrician’s, I enter into a wonderful conversation with the office manager, who just so happens to be the electrician’s wife.  She was SUCH a blessing!

I told her on the way out the door, I was CONVINCED God placed her in my life today to be MY ONE.  My ONE to share God’s love with!  Afterall, THAT’s what REALLY matters in life!
