God’s greatest commandments are to love Him and to love one another.  Loving Him may come easy; after all, He is patient and loving Himself.  But the second part of His command can be difficult because it means loving intrusive neighbors at the backyard barbecue, offensive cousins at Christmas dinner, rude cashiers at the grocery store check-out, and insufferable guests who have stayed one night too may in the guestroom.
Loving one another is only truly possible when we love like God.

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.  Lamentations 3:22-23

(Jesus Is Mine, 2016 Monthly Planner)

With the events going on in the world today and the pain and sadness of my friends and families, I must admit I’m a bit disheartened.  Does that mean I’ve given up hope or lost faith in Jesus Christ?

HE remains on the throne and in absolute control.

We must never forget God’s gift of free will, the opportunity to choose.  God has not and will not force anyone to accept His son.  He will not force us to walk in the path of Jesus Christ.  (There is nothing we have to do to earn the gift of His Son.  Jesus freely died on the cross for the forgiveness of sin, thereby allowing us to spend eternity with His Father in Heaven and live lives with the gift of His Spirit inside us.)

In search of solace this morning, in addition to my current Bible Study, I found myself taking a quick glance through 2 Timothy in preparation for Beth Moore’s NEW BIBLE study, Entrusted.  As always, God placed the perfect scripture in my path:

Difficult Times Ahead

But know this: Difficult times will come in the last days. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, without love for what is good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to the form of godliness but denying its power. Avoid these people!  2 Timothy 3:1-5

Honestly, doesn’t that pretty much sum it up?  Our Country has pulled away from God.  We no longer honor the Bible and our country’s Christian heritage!

Why, you ask?  Because our nation is more concerned with SELF!  It’s no longer about loving your neighbor….

all about me

Guess where I get to go next week?

Ever since I was blessed to attend Beth Moore’s Living Proof Live (LPL) event in Norfolk earlier this year, I have, once again, been faithful to my daily Bible study.  The day the LVP event ended, I went straight to Lifeway and purchased Beth’s Bible study “Jesus the One and Only,” as I was reminded that weekend it’s ALL ABOUT JESUS!

This coming Monday evening, 11 July 2016, my favorite local Women’s Bible teacher will host her annual Vacation Bible Study for Women.  I can’t wait to attend!  She is the most amazing teacher and I know first hand she walks the walk.  Every time I hear her speak, I am changed!  This year, I’m confident, will be no different.

If you think you MIGHT have time to attend, it would be well worth your while to MAKE time to attend!  You will be blessed beyond measure!  The details are below:
